Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Premiere Brings Back Memorable Anakin Skywalker Adversary

There is little doubt that Anakin Skywalker has faced numerous opponents in the past episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. However, it looks like Season 7 is pitting the Jedi against someone fans believed would not return so soon.

In The Bad Batch, the heroes decided to find out how the Separatist forces are able to predict their battle strategies. To do so, they called on Clone Force 99 to infiltrate enemy lines. Interestingly, the truth might be connected to Captain Rex and we're expecting to see more of this particular story arc in the next episode. But before that, the premiere episode decided to bring back Admiral Trench and his spidery face.

Admiral Trench might be proof that you can't easily squash his spidery butt (okay, I'm going to stop writing "spidery" now). Although the character was first introduced in the second season, Trench returned in Season 6 with some brand-new cyborg parts. Personally, I was hoping we wouldn't see more of him in the final season yet here we are.

Luckily, we won't have to deal with this guy for long since he was immediately reunited with Anakin, who initially didn't engage the villain. But since Trench couldn't resist messing with Anakin, the Jedi had to impale him with his lightsaber. To add insult to injury, the Bad Batch caused his ships to explode, effectively torching the baddie.

Let's just say I'm happy that Trench is gone for good. However, he might not be the only former adversary we'll get to see in the final season.

The premiere episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 is currently streaming on Disney+.
