Star Wars The Black Series: Episode I Obi-Wan Officially Revealed

For a while Star Wars Black Series collectors have had both Darth Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn, but padawan Obi-Wan was nowhere to be seen. Thanks to the currently ongoing Toy Fair, Hasbro has revealed their upcoming young Obi-Wan figure complete with face printing tech—and he looks amazing.

Check him out:

As part of the vintage series, they've also packaged him in familiar cardboard design that comes back from when the Episode I toys were out. Besides Obi-Wan, we're also getting a rerelease of Darth Maul, hopefully with the new face-printing technology as well.

It's also coming out as nitpicky at this point, but I kind of wish they fixed the articulation on these Jedi figures. They're arm movement is extremely limited, and it's weird that I can have Jedi figures holding a lightsaber without it looking awkward.

For a while, Hasbro has been getting its figure quality compromised with the overseas products, but they've really upped the game with their new photo-real method. What's also cool is, some people are now asking for re-releases of older figures that didn't originally have the tech, and it's likely that we'll get a re-release of Qui-Gon with a better face.

Hopefully they do the same with the Rogue One figures as well because Cassian and Jyn are terrible.

We don't have a specific release date for these figures yet, but hopefully they come out sometime earlier this year.

Star Wars Episode IX hits theaters Dec. 20.
