Star Wars: The Bad Batch Animated Series Revealed for Disney+

A new Star Wars series following the elite clones of the Bad Batch will make its way to Disney+!

Following the series finale of The Clone Wars, the streaming service ordered a new animated series from Lucasfilm titled Star Wars: The Bad Batch, set to arrive on Disney+ next year.

Deadline reports that the animated show will follow the experimental clones as they "find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War." The members of the Batch will take on "daring mercenary missions" post-Clone War era but are struggling to "stay afloat and find a new purpose."

Agnes Chu, senior vice president of content on Disney+, says giving the final chapter of The Clone Wars has been an "honor," and they are "overjoyed by the global response" of the fans to the series.

"While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning," she added. "We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni's vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch."

Dave Filoni will serve as the executive producer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, along with Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett. Carrie Beck is the co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as the producer. Rau will also serve as the supervising director and Corbett as the series head writer.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set for release on Disney+ in 2021.
