Star Wars: Sam Witwer Reacts to Rogue One Theory Connected to Andor Cameo

There is no shortage of Star Wars theories out there but it looks like there is one that could be plausible, as confirmed by the subject himself. Sam Witwer has just addressed a Rogue One theory about his cameo in the first season of Andor.

In Andor Season 1 Episode 7, Cassian Andor heads for the tropical tourist paradise of Niamos where he uses the name Keef Girgo. However, while he is headed towards a local store, he is stopped and then unjustly arrested by a Shoretrooper. The arrest leads to Cassian being sentenced to six years of imprisonment and sent to Narkina 5.

If you were listening closely, you probably noticed that the Shoretrooper sounded familiar. That's because he was voiced by Sam Witwer, who also plays Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Interestingly, one fan shared their theory about how Witwer is the reason why the Rebels managed to blow up the Death Star in the first place.

It didn't take long before Sam Witwer saw the tweet and reshared it with an affirmative caption.

According to the theory, Sam Witwer is responsible for the destruction of the Death Star because his Andor character captured Cassian and sent him to prison where he started a revolution. After escaping, he returns to his home planet and finally joins up with the Rebels.

It's a cool connection to Rogue One and after what happened in the Andor finale, we're certainly looking forward to getting closer to the events leading up to the destruction of the Death Star. Needless to say, we're all hyped up for Andor Season 2.

The second season of Andor is currently in production. Season 2 will consist of 12 episodes and has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
