Star Wars: Ron Howard Weighs In on Solo Not Meeting Box Office Expectations

While not a box office bomb, Solo: A Star Wars Story has failed to live up to the expectations that Disney and Lucasfilm had for its weekend box office. The film is also the lowest box office opening for any Star Wars film, even making less money than Rogue One, the first Star Wars spinoff.

Director Ron Howard has commented on the news and confirmed that the film failed to live up to earlier projections. Howard did state that it was the best opening for any movie he has made but it's still pretty low for Star Wars standards, which isn't great news.

In spite of that, Howard is encouraging fans to check out the film and judge it for themselves on Twitter. This is actually a pretty fair statement since you can't really judge a movie until you have seen it yourself. Of course, we're all human and we want to spend our money on things that will entertain us, so it's easy to see why people go to Rotten Tomatoes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story got mixed reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and now has the lowest box office opening of the franchise. It will be interesting to see if the film finds an audience on DVD and Blu-Ray. Fans can catch the film in cinemas now.
