Star Wars television shows are an opportunity to explore and expand characters and locations that the movies briefly touched upon. With a Rogue One prequel series coming soon on Disney+, Lucasfilm creature and makeup effects supervisor Neal Scanlan hints that the show could revive unused elements from the movies.

"What is fun about this is, in many ways, I don't think it feels different than working on a movie," he told Movieweb. "It certainly doesn't feel like we are making any compromises. It's the same creative conditions in every department to do what we can do."
Scanlan points out that the studio has a "backlog of characters" built for Star Wars films, but didn't make it in the final cut.

"Because that's just the way that the film process happens," he explained. "Or that they are seen so momentarily that there is this wonderful second opportunity to bring back some of the characters that we've made and bring them to this new storyline in a more, shall we say, integrated way."

"I think it's going to be tremendous," he added. Scanlan says he sees this as another opportunity for everything that they have made, as well as an opportunity of "moving TV along" in the sense of "the level of things" they are going to try and achieve.

While Scanlan didn't specifically mention which characters or creatures they could be bringing back, he previously expressed his desire for the "Eye of Webbish Bog" to return in "some way, shape, or form."
