Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Adds Red Hot Chili Peppers Bassist Flea

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series just got a lot cooler. A new report reveals that Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is joining the cast of the upcoming Star Wars show and his role sounds just as bad-ass as the musician himself!

StarWarsNewsNet reports that the Obi-Wan Kenobi show will feature an appearance by Michael Peter Balzary aka Flea. Details about the musician's role remain unknown. However, his character will allegedly be wielding "a sharp-looking blaster."

Fans are loving the news considering it means that Flea is joining the Star Wars Universe. However, it isn't the bass player's first acting role. He previously appeared in Back to the Future Part II back in 1989, The Big Lebowski, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, both in 1998. Flea's most recent role was in Baby Driver in 2017.

For now, Flea's role is still undisclosed but that's not really a huge surprise considering that we still don't know who most of the cast is playing in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hopefully, we'll get hints as the premiere of the series draws closer. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will bring back Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. They will be joined by fellow Star Wars prequel movie trilogy stars Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars, respectively. Grant Feely has been as the young Luke Skywalker in the series.

The new series is directed by Deborah Chow with Joby Harold serving as showrunner. Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ on May 27, 2022.
