Star Wars: New Report Claims Obi-Wan Kenobi is Returning for Another Season

Ever since the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was announced, it has always been billed as a limited affair. Lucasfilm studios have brought back both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen for a six-part adventure designed to bridge the gap between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.

However, with the overwhelming reception and massive success of the series, becoming the most-watched premiere in Disney+ history, it looks like another Obi-Wan Kenobi story might be told in the future.

As of now, there’s still no telling if it will fall under a different name or it might become a second season of the series, but a new report from Making Star Wars claims that both Lucasfilm and Disney are moving forward with another story starring McGregor that will follow the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

The report states that some parts of the finale of the show are being changed in order to allow for a second season and for some characters to return. With that said, Making Star Wars details the changes and the finale of the show. So be careful of potential spoilers.

There hasn’t been any indication from Disney or Lucasfilm that Obi-Wan Kenobi will become anything more than a limited series. That said, the cast of the show (especially McGregor) has been very open about enjoying their time with the story, so the idea that they will be willing to return for another season isn’t too surprising.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan Mcgregor, Hayden Christensen, Ruper Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Maya Erskine, Sung Kang, Benny Safdie, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Simon Kessel, and Indira Varma.

The first three episodes of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently available to stream on Disney+ with the next episodes releasing weekly.
