It goes without saying that Han Solo is one of the most popular Star Wars characters ever which is why it is quite baffling how a prequel film centered on the beloved "stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder" performed underwhelmingly at the box office, only earning compared to the billions generated by films like Rogue One and the uber-divisive sequel trilogy.

2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story failed to click not only with fans but also with critics and the generally negative reception it received following its release seemingly erased any possibility of a sequel ever happening. However, that hasn't stopped some fans from demanding Lucasfilm and over the last couple of years, there has been a movement from the fandom which aims to give actor Alden Ehrenreich another shot at playing the character originally portrayed by Harrison Ford.

On Twitter, the hashtag #MakeSolo2Happen has once again become a hot trending topic proving that fans aren't ready to give up on the campaign. Check out some of the tweets below:

Director Ron Howard previously stated that the fate of the sequel is not in his hands but he admits that the support given to his divisive film is gratifying. Now, while I think that a film sequel might be out of the question, there's still hope for Solo to continue his adventures pre-original trilogy via streaming.

And seeing how Lucasfilm is developing a standalone project for Lando Calrissian which will reportedly see Donald Glover's return, then there's definitely a good chance that Ehrenreich will be presented with the same opportunity down the line.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is available to stream on Disney+.
