Disney is once again setting the Star Wars fandom ablaze after the release of a new novel that chronicles Obi-Wan Kenobi's time as a Jedi Padawan. The new book, titled Star Wars: Padawan seemingly implies that the iconic Force-wielding protagonist may either be a bisexual or an asexual.
Speculation surrounding Kenobi's sexuality immediately became a hot topic on social media after an excerpt from the novel featured a scene where the future Jedi Master was being tempted by a teenage boy named Casul. According to the novel, Obi-Wan had a brief moment of self-doubt before coming to terms with his commitment to the Jedi code.
When Bounding Into Comics published a full breakdown of the prequel-era novel, fans quickly stormed Twitter to share their thoughts on the possibility of Obi-Wan either becoming bisexual or asexual in the Star Wars canon. Now, before you react violently over the possibility, it's worth noting that Disney has yet to confirm anything but considering they've been pushing for diversity and representation for quite some time now, the idea no longer seems farfetched. I gotta say though, I think the whole concept of Obi-Wan being asexual is actually out of the question, especially with the existence of Satine Kryze who was romantically linked with him in other Star Wars mediums.
