The last couple of months have been pivotal for James Earl Jones after confirming that he's hanging up his cape as the definitive voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise. His retirement from his Vader role, 45 years after he first voice the part in A New Hope doesn't come as a surprise as his age has drastically altered his voice. Still, Star Wars diehards can't help but feel emotional seeing their hero step away from the role.

The good news is that the 91-year-old legend's voice will still be heard in future projects after he gave Lucasfilm his blessing to utilize his iconic voice through the production company's advanced technology, something that they apparently did for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Speaking of Jones, fans were in a state of panic after The Lion King star suddenly became a hot trending topic on Twitter. While it's unclear why the Twitterverse was buzzing about him in the first place, not to mention during the wee hours of the night, a lot of people naturally thought something bad happened to the beloved actor.

Thankfully, that wasn't the case and we can confirm that James Earl Jones is alive and well. Check out some of the tweets below:

I don't know about you but it's great that Disney and Lucasfilm decided to use their new technology to recapture James' voice for future Star Wars projects instead of looking for a new actor to voice Darth Vader moving forward. It just goes to prove that he cannot be replaced.

Meanwhile, all episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are available to stream on Disney+.
