Star Wars Fans Get Harrison Ford Commercial, But It's Not What Fans Expected

If there's one thing that people are looking forward to during Super Bowl 2019, it's the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer. Interestingly, people actually got a Harrison Ford TV spot during the game but it's not exactly what Star Wars fans were expecting.

Ford is one of the stars in the new Amazon TV spot for Alexa titled Not Everything Makes The Cut. It features Ford dealing with his adorable pooch who wouldn't stop ordering dog food, gravy, and sausages, thanks to an Alexa dog collar for dogs. However, it isn't the only failed plan for Amazon that shows up in the ad. There was also a plan for Alexa hot tubs, which actually transforms the tub into an awesome fountain. Probably not a good idea to be sitting in it when that happens, though.

Interestingly, Ford isn't the only Star Wars actor featured in the TV spot. Forest Whitaker from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also makes the mistake of ordering his Alexa toothbrush to play his podcast while he's using it. Needless to say, Saw Gerrera isn't very happy with the device.

Sure, it's great to see Ford and Whitaker during Super Bowl LIII but is there any chance that the Episode IX trailer will actually debut during the game? We're keeping our fingers crossed. In the meantime, people couldn't help but joke about Ford's commercial being the closest thing we could get to a Star Wars teaser.

Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20.
