Earlier today, Lucasfilm announced Star Wars prequel trilogy actor Hayden Christensen's appearance in this year's Star Wars Celebration. While fans haven't been particularly kind to Christensen for his weak portrayal of Anakin Skywalker ( in fact hatred for the character has kept Christensen away from major Star Wars events and conventions for so, so long), over the years many have come to appreciate what the actor has done for the franchise.
Learning that the Star Wars prequel trilogy legend is set to appear in Star Wars Celebration Chicago, fans have decided to take to social media to celebrate Christensen's return. Responding to the announcement, fans have been posting all sorts of memes and GIFs to welcome Star Wars' Anakin Skywalker actor back into the fold.

Aside from the celebratory memes, fans have also been taking the announcement as a confirmation that Anakin Skywalker (or possibly Darth Vader) may actually appear in Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: Episode IX. While Lucasfilm has been very careful not to let out Episode IX spoilers, fans have been pretty busy perusing all sorts of wild fan theories, some of which propose the return of characters like Darth Sidious and of course, Darth Vader.
While Vader may have never really been part of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, the legendary Sith Lord's presence has certainly been felt in the films. After all, Anakin's grandson, Ben Solo (Adam Driver), has always had this fanboyish obsession over Darth Vader. Rumor has it that Vader may very well appear as a Force Ghost in Episode IX, and while that seems unlikely, fans are hoping to get word from Christensen himself when he appears in Star Wars Celebration.
