Star Wars Fan Theory On The Gruesome Truth Behind The Dress The Ewoks Gave Leia

Star Wars fans might have chalked off Leia's (the late Carrie Fisher) connection with the Ewoks in the Return of the Jedi to the Alderaan Princesses' effective communication skills, however, it seems like the bond between the two might actually have a dark hue to it.

Taking note of the clothing that the Ewoks gave Leia in Episode VI, Reddit user Premeddit points out the flaw in the "kindness" the Endor natives showed the Princess. Revealing a darker and more likely reason Leia was kept alive in the movie, the Star Wars fan highlights two key facts about the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi.

One: the bumbling and ever-curious creatures eat people. In fact, they tried to roast Han (Harrison Ford) and Luke (Mark Hamill) as an offering to their new god, C-3PO.

Two: while the dress the Ewoks gave her seemed to be made out of local material in Endor, it seems very unlikely that creatures had the time to immediately stitch up a dress in the Princess' measurements.

That means that the dress was already made for a humanoid before. According to the theory, the Ewoks may have stumbled open the dress' original owner, killed her, and then eaten her in what would be a strange religious ritual.

It might seem farfetched isn't entirely impossible – after all, the 1984 television movie Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure showed that humans did crash land on Endor before Return of the Jedi. Besides, Ewoks do have a craving for human flesh. However, if true, this would definitely put a dark and twisted spin on Leia's relationship with the Endor natives.
