Star Wars: Episode IX Title Reveal Date Leaked

Star Wars fans might be drying up waiting for major Star Wars: Episode IX news, but for the past few months, Lucasfilm has been keeping a tight lid on the third and final installment in the studio's sequel trilogy. However, while some fans continue to hope for an early teaser trailer release or title announcement, a new post by a TV news anchor may indicate that fans have to wait just a little bit longer for major updates on Episode IX.

ABC 10 Morning Blend television anchor Mark Allen just recently took to Instagram to share a photo of himself taken during a recent Pinewood Studios visit. A few moments after putting up the picture online, the TV host then shared a comment teasing fans that they'd actually be able to expect the title release on a very special holiday: May the 4th.

While it might be possible that Allen is simply pulling the fanbase's leg, it isn't that farfetched to think that Lucasfilm would be planning to drop Episode IX's title on May 4. It is of course when everyone celebrates the Star Wars franchise.

However, rumors have been pointing to a teaser trailer release during this year's Star Wars Celebration, an event taking place in the middle of April. Wouldn't Lucasfilm want to drop the title for Episode IX before unveiling the teaser?

Historically, Star Wars titles are always revealed before each Star Wars Celebration. Could Lucasfilm be planning a teaser trailer release after May? Let's just wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX drops December 20, 2019.
