Star Wars: Episode IX Rumors Say A Threat Bigger Than The Siths Is Coming From 'The Beyond'

There might be little Star Wars news for fans to go on with, but there sure are a lot of Star Wars: Episode IX rumors running up and down the mill for the fanbase to busy itself with.

According to the most recent stories that have been making their way online (via Making Star Wars), the Resistance won't be the only threat that the First Order has to deal with in the third and final installment of Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy. Word has it that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) is going to find his group in danger when an unexpected threat arises from a deadly new dimension in the galaxy far, far away. Hailing from "The Beyond" this threat will set out to crush the First Order's new supreme leader, his empire, and the entire galaxy.

While this new realm sounds as mysterious and as dark as ever, Making Star Wars suggests that the new dimension will bring a new evil that even the Sith can't compete with. The site also details that "it was really important that the Knights of Ren have returned from the Beyond," hinting that this is where the group was sent after the brief appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If proven true, then the Knights of Ren's adventure to "The Beyond" might actually be one of the main reasons why the group missed out on all the action in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Of course, as exciting as a new realm might sound, fans should remember to take the report with a grain of salt. Sure, Making Star Wars writes accurate reports every now and then, but we can never really be sure till we get confirmation from Lucasfilm.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to premiere on December 20, 2019.
