Star Wars: Episode IX Leaked Scene Between Luke And Kylo Ren Could Fix TLJ Backlash

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have been a massive critical and commercial success for Lucasfilm, however, the movie also ended up being one of the most divisive entries in the Star Wars saga, with a vocal minority openly expressing how much they dislike the film. Not only do these fans feel outraged over the film's attempts at subverting fan expectations, but they also feel upset over how the film turned the benevolent Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) into a jaded old hermit.

Now, there's a Star Wars: Episode IX leak running around describing a thrilling scene between Luke and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) that might help fix the backlash that The Last Jedi's caused.

According to a report by Express, there are new rumors going around saying that Luke and his wayward nephew are going to have another standoff in Episode IX, this time in a location that seems to appear like the remains of a Jedi temple.

"It's described that Mark Hamill shot a sequence in January over at Cardington Sheds for a scene in the third act of the film, where it's said Mark Hamill was in a stand-off with Adam Driver in front of what appear to be Jedi runes," the leak says.

Not only that but in the scene, we get to see Luke wielding his green lightsaber in front of Kylo Ren, his estranged nephew brandishing his classic crossguard saber. The scene is reportedly an action-heavy sequence – brie but powerful.

Sure, the two might have already crossed swords in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but fans, later on, learn that Luke had simply been projecting his image on Crait using the Force. Now, this leak promises an actual physical battle.

Will this be enough to help appease The Last Jedi backlash?

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
