Reylo shippers might actually have something to look forward to in Star Wars: Episode IX. A new leak suggests that Rey and Kylo Ren are set for an emotional reunion in the highly anticipated sequel.
It was previously reported that Rey and Kylo Ren will engage in a major lightsaber duel at the end of Episode IX. Although it is unclear who will win in the fight, the new leak purports that the two will get emotional as the film comes to a conclusion (via Express).
According to the leak, the scene features "Rey and Kylo Ren inside a base. From what it seems they are holding and hugging each other while kneeling on the ground. Rey appears to be crying with her eyes squinting. Kylo Ren's head is on her shoulder." It is further noted that "some ships are leaving into the sky with some pilots running towards their starfighters" behind them.
Interestingly, the leak also reveals that "Kylo's black clothing is ripped and he has some scrapes on his shoulder." The source states that "this could be after the lightsaber duel."
It is unclear why the two would actually end up in each other's arms after a major fight. This has led to speculations that Kylo finally agrees to leave the Dark Side and help train Rey properly. However, it is also revealed that the scene includes "a sense of danger for our characters including Kylo Ren and Rey and the moment when Ben turns towards to the Light."
It's an unusual scene yet it seems plausible considering that Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley are training hard for fight sequences. Nevertheless, it is still best to take all details with a grain of salt.
Star Wars: Episode IX has not yet been given an official title. The sequel is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
