Star Wars: Episode IX Leak Details Alien That Rey, Finn, Poe Are Going To Meet

Lucasfilm might be keeping a tight hold on Star Wars: Episode IX's secrets, but somehow details about the studio's third and final sequel trilogy entry still manage to make their way online.

Last month, artwork for Episode IX leaked online, and in it fans got to catch a glimpse of an all-new alien. Naturally, many began to question the character's origins and the role it would play in the film. Thanks to a new post by Star Wars fan account Bespin Bulletin, we get to learn more about this new alien and how it factors into Episode IX's narrative.

Though the leak is fairly minor, Bespin Bulletin claims that the information comes from multiple sources and that he/she is confident in the legitimacy of what he/she learned about the new alien fans got to see in the leaked Episode IX poster. Here are the details written in the fan account's post:

"Rey meets the alien in the poster, I don't know if she's alone or with Poe, Finn etc. but Rey meets the alien and even though the alien itself isn't important, this encounter leads to something much more important which is part of the evolving McGuffin in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX'," the caption on the image reads.

While we advise fans to take this report with a grain of salt, this new leak does coincide with older reports regarding Episode IX's plot. There were stories saying that the upcoming film would have Rey (Daisy Ridley) go on a journey together with Finn (John Boyega), Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Chewbacca, so many this alien is a character they meet along the way?
