Star Wars Episode IX Could Be Coming Back to Yavin 4

Star Wars Episode IX is nearing the end of production, and news has come out that the film has moved into a historic spot in Star Wars history.

According to Fanthatracks, the production for Episode IX has moved to the Cardington Sheds, a former Royal Airforce hangar where they shot the Yavin exteriors for A New Hope and Rogue One.

There are actually two Cardington sheds and the original Star Wars was shot in Shed 1. For now, WB is using the first shed for prop storage, and Rogue One and Episode IX have set camp in Shed 2.

While Lucasfilm moving to that shed isn't solid confirmation that Yavin will be revisited in the film, I have a good feeling that we will come back to the old Rebel base eventually. With Yavin being such a significant place in Star Wars lore, it would be neat if Episode IX could be some sort of bookend to the nine main movies in the franchise.

Plus, if the Resistance used an abandoned rebel base in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, wouldn't it make sense for them to come back to old places like Yavin as well?

The production for Star Wars Episode IX is set to end soon, and a lot of people are expecting a glimpse of the movie before the month ends. Then again, Lucasfilm could just be waiting till Star Wars Celebration to give us our very first teaser for the movie.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20.
