Star Wars Episode IX Concept Art Pieces Suggest A Return To Darth Vader’s Planet

Lucasfilm might have been keeping a tight hold on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's many secrets, but it seems like concept art from the movie has finally started making the rounds online.

Star Wars industry fan site Making Star Wars just recently shared an image of what seems to be a wall of concept art mainly for Lucasfilm's third sequel trilogy installment. Though you can never be too certain whether all the art pieces on the wall are for The Rise of Skywalker, the site says that their source has told them that the image was taken from a location where work on the film is in full swing.

The concept art pieces might be hard to see considering the quality of the photo shared by Making Star Wars, but some aren't that difficult to make out.

The publication describes the concept art pieces as images having a "very Mustafar vibe to them with fire and a castle," bringing up rumors that Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are actually going to have a "flash fight" sequence in Darth Vader's home.

Aside from the fiery palace, we also get to see shots of rugged mountains in the desert – a scene which coincides with what we've already seen in the first teaser trailer for The Rise of Skywalker.

Those interested in checking out the concept art pieces can head to this link right here. Making Star Wars has asked fans from refraining from posting these images on social media as they may have the potential to spoil the upcoming film.

Hopefully clearer versions of these concept art pieces somehow make their way online soon. We can't wait to learn more about what Episode IX has in store for us.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
