Star Wars: Episode IX BTS Reel, First Footage Reportedly Dropping On Christmas

Fans may be in for a huge treat this Christmas. The first footage and a behind-the-scenes reel from Star Wars: Episode IX is expected to drop on Christmas Day.

According to Star Wars News Net, a behind-the-scenes look could be unveiled by Disney and Lucasfilm next week. The video is expected to feature the cast and crew working on Episode IX. In addition to that, there could be very brief footage from the film although a full trailer will not yet be revealed.

People have been hoping to get a glimpse at Episode IX this year. After all, Disney has already dropped the trailer for Avengers: Endgame earlier this month. In addition to that, the Episode IX teaser could actually reveal the new movie's subtitle. However, the report suggests that the House of Mouse wants audiences to focus on their holiday releases. This means that a teaser or full trailer could be released much later.

A BTS reel for Episode IX isn't the only thing that Star Wars fans can look forward to this Christmas. It was previously reported that a sneak peek at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be screened exclusively on ABC along with the annual Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade. The teaser is expected to highlight the upcoming attractions Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as well as Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Star Wars: Episode IX has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, the film is expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
