Disney Executives Reportedly 'Livid' Over Leslye Headland's Female-Centric Star Wars Series

It was recently revealed that a new female-led Star Wars series is in the works for Disney+ from Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland. There haven't been any official details announced yet, but a rumor suggests that Disney's top executives aren't exactly happy with the new series.

The rumor comes from WDW Pro on the WDW Magic Forums (via Bounding Into Comics). The outlet member says his source claims Disney's Bob Iger and Bob Chapek are "livid" and that there is "faster than normal movement" for them to get "high-level meetings going."

Later in the thread, another user suggested it might have been something connected to the new Star Wars series from Headland. WDW Pro agrees to this, saying that "the goobers at Lucasfilm" reportedly hired Headland without even consulting the House of Mouse or their legal department. While also pointing out that she is Harvey Weinstein's former personal assistant, and "comes with significant PR baggage, potentially legal baggage."

Of course, this is just a rumor and anything of this matter is yet to be confirmed. That said, Given Weinstein's case and Headland being reportedly hired without consultation from Disney's legal department, it is understandable as to why there is a rumor that surrounds this matter.

As for the show itself, of course, it is inevitable that while some fans are excited about the "female-centric" Star Wars series, there are also some who aren't necessarily looking forward to it. So it isn't unlikely that others would agree with some of Disney's executives reportedly being "livid" over Headland's hiring.
