Star Wars: Disney+ Boba Fett Special to be Released on Star Wars Day

Back when The Mandalorian was first released, fans were so excited to see the first live-action Star Wars TV series, even earning the deep-dive program Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, with Disney+ delivering a similar behind-the-scenes experience with the upcoming Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett.

As of now, it is currently unknown if the new installment of the upcoming Disney Gallery will be a one-off special or an episodic release, as What’s On Disney Plus only stated that the project was on the way. Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett is set to be released on May 4, which has become the official “Star Wars Day” for the whole franchise.

The first season of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian only consisted of eight episodes, featuring a variety of elements regarding how the debut season of The Mandalorian was put together. The second season of the series, however, only earned a single episode, which detailed how the entire season was put together, minus the season finale.

With the season finale featuring the return of a young Luke Skywalker, a follow-up episode was made focusing entirely on the development of the season finale episode.

With Star Wars’ The Book of Boba Fett consisting of only seven episodes, and with the series not featuring any reveals as huge as Luke Skywalker, it’s safe to say that we shouldn’t expect a lengthy dive into the makings of the series, though we still can’t rule out the possibility of the project lasting more than a single episode.

While Boba Fett returned to the Star Wars franchise back in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett series detailed how he survived the sarlacc in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and his adventures after that.

Rather than focusing solely on Boba Fett, the series, however, featured the various exploits of several characters, creating more of an ensemble experience than one solely focusing on the iconic bounty hunter.

The end of The Book of Boba Fett sparked speculations about whether it will get a second season, with a lot of fans still making theories over whether this was an ongoing or a limited series, with Lucasfilm not yet ruling out the possibility of a second season.

You can check out the upcoming Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett when it releases on May 4th.
