Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi has tapped a writer from Andor to co-write the screenplay for the highly-anticipated movie.

Last year, it was announced that Logan director James Mangold is working on a Star Wars movie that will focus on the origins of the Force and is set around 25,000 years before the events of the Skywalker Saga.

Mangold's involvement in the Star Wars project continues his relationship with Lucasfilm as he also recently helmed Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the last installment in the Harrison Ford-led franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Beau Willimon, who worked on the first season of Andor and served as the showrunner of House of Cards, is set to co-write the screenplay of Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi with Mangold.

It will be his second project in the Star Wars franchise, but this time around, it will be in a timeline that has never been explored in the galaxy far, far away.

He recently earned an Emmy nomination for writing the tenth episode of Andor titled "One Way Out" which is considered to be the show's best episode to date and concluded the Narkina 5 arc with Andy Serkis' Kino Loy.

There is no doubt that Willimon's involvement adds to the pedigree of the movie since he has proven that he can do high-quality work on a Star Wars project.

It is interesting what he and Mangold will conceive in the story since it is a territory that has never been explored in the franchise and the possibilities of the stories that they can tell are limitless.

Lucasfilm has also not set a release date yet for the movie so the development might still take a while and fans should keep their patience for more news and updates on the project.
