Star Wars: David Benioff And D.B. Weiss On When They’ll Begin Working On Their Films

Star Wars fans might be preparing themselves for the release of Star Wars: Episode IX next year, but that doesn't mean that they've forgotten about Lucasfilm's other upcoming Star Wars projects like the studio's spinoff movies. While Lucasfilm has yet to set a production date for their Star Wars films, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss both promise that they're planning to begin work on their Star Wars movies once they finish working on the final season of their hit fantasy epic series.

Entertainment Weekly just recently put up a profile about Benioff and Weiss and all the different accomplishments they've made with Game of Thrones. In the article, the publication notes that the two are gearing up to work on their Star Wars projects once the series finally comes to a wrap.

Of course, knowing how big Star Wars is, the producers had to get some advice on how to keep their project's secrets away from the Star Wars fanbase. Weiss and Benioff might be used to fans sneaking around to get set photos and learn about what's to come in Game of Thrones, but they still have to experience the intensity of the Star Wars fanbase.

"They've given us a lot of hints about how to lock things down, things we never would have thought of or didn't know were possible," Weiss told the publication.

We guess it won't be easy getting to learn new details about Weiss and Benioff's upcoming Star Wars projects, though we honestly hope the two give us a few posts to keep us in the loop when they start working on their films.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
