It goes without saying that Daisy Ridley's Hollywood career skyrocketed following her involvement in the Star Wars universe. Despite the fact that the sequel trilogy is still seen by many as the most polarizing part of the beloved franchise, I think most of us can give the actress credit for doing the best she could to make Rey a compelling character.
The British star speaks highly of her entire Star Wars experience but it turns out that in the beginning, she had issues with self-doubt, thinking that she was put in a spot she was never meant to be in.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Ridley looked back on her sequel trilogy journey, revealing that she was too hard on herself when doing the first two films. According to the actress, she often questioned her self-worth but things were a lot easier when filming The Rise of Skywalker.
Daisy shared: "On the third film [Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker], I was very present. On the first two, I was like, 'Oh my God, they’ve chosen the wrong person. Oh my God, I’m gonna screw it all up. Oh my God, oh my God.' And then by the third one, I had little time to pause. I still had moments of feeling like, 'Oh my God, am I terrible?' But I also knew that I worked really hard and that I was in a very safe environment with a lot of people that I already knew."

Of course, Rey ended up becoming a divisive figure but giving credit where credit is due, I think Daisy did the role justice. I wouldn't mind seeing the character return to a galaxy far, far away but even I would have to admit that Lucasfilm would have to do a better job at handling her.
