Star Wars Critic Bill Burr Talks About His Time in The Mandalorian

Star Wars fans were surprised when word came out that actor and comedian Bill Burr had been cast in Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

The F is For Family star has always been a vocal critic of the galaxy far, far away, making fun of Star Wars and calling it "a cheesy self-help book put in outer space." As it turns out, the actor couldn't say no when Iron Man director Jon Favreau asked him to join his live-action Star Wars series.

Speaking in an interview with Looper, the comedian revealed how he ended up in The Mandalorian.

"When Jon asked me to do it, I was like ‘Jon, you know I have been making fun of this s***," Burr told the entertainment news outlet, "He laughed and went, ‘But I think your fans would think it was funny if you were in it."

And they did, of course, Burr managed to bring a lot of gruff charisma to his character, Mayfeld, a former Imperial sharpshooter who ends up becoming a mercenary.

In The Mandalorian, Mayfeld ends up joining Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and a misfit crew of outlaws on a mission to rescue a prisoner. However, after finding the prisoner, Mayfeld and the crew decide to turn on The Mandalorian in an attempt at revenge.

They fail of course.

While Burr's character was left floating aimlessly on a prison transport ship, there are rumors going around that Mayfeld will return.

Though Burr doesn't confirm any of the reports regarding his return, the actor seems to have enjoyed his time working on The Mandalorian. According to the comedian, it was a "pinch yourself" kind of moment.

It'd certainly be interesting to see Burr return in season 2 of The Mandalorian don't you think?
