Star Wars: Christian Bale Wants to Play Classic A New Hope Character

Christian Bale has already been a part of two major franchises in his career. After playing Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Bale joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder. Now the Academy Award winner has confirmed that he wants to be a part of the Star Wars Universe. In fact, Bale even knows which role he wants to play, and it happens to be an iconic character from A New Hope!

It turns out that Christian Bale is just like us: The Dark Knight Rises actor is a huge fan of Star Wars. In addition to that, he's obsessed with a specific character that people have fixated on in A New Hope.

"All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through," Bale told The Hollywood Reporter. "The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it."

It's awesome to know that Christian Bale loves Star Wars as much as the rest of us. Additionally, we're loving the fact that he is eager to play a Stormtrooper, especially an iconic one from A New Hope.

The aforementioned Stormtrooper accidentally bumps his head on a door while escorting the two droids in A New Hope. It was a small blooper that somehow made it to the final cut of Episode IV and turned the hapless Stormtrooper into one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars Universe.

For now, Lucasfilm and Disney have not yet cast Christian Bale in any Star Wars projects. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
