Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has long expressed her desire to star in a Lucasfilm project and she's even volunteered on several occasions to appear in the Star Wars universe. To those unaware, Larson is an avid fan of the legendary science-fiction franchise, and the thought of her not being considered for a Star Wars project almost seems criminal at this point when you think about it.

Now, a new rumor suggests that after years of lobbying for a role, Brie is finally Star Wars bound. According to YouTube insider MIKE ZEROH, the same guy who recently claimed that Keanu Reeves has been tapped by Jon Favreau for an animated Star Wars project, Larson is set to headline her own solo series which revolves around the character Maeve, a citizen Eternal Empire living during the Galactic War.

ZEROH notes that the upcoming series heading to Disney+ will feature a brand new timeline outside of the current Star Wars canon with Maeve being depicted as a character who is much more powerful than Darth Vader and Rey combined. Of course, take this rumor with a grain of salt for now. Check out the report here:

Even if the rumor doesn't amount to anything, it's safe to assume that an actress of Brie Larson's caliber will still end up in the Star Wars franchise no matter what. It also helps that she's currently working under the Disney umbrella which makes it easier for her to crossover from the MCU to Star Wars if she wishes. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next because as of now, Brie is currently busy with her Marvel gig.

Larson is slated to return for Captain Marvel 2 in 2022.
