The announcement comes right before Solo: A Star Wars Story makes its big premiere tomorrow. The film is the second Star Wars spinoff to premiere after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's also the very first Star Wars movie to focus on a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars franchise.
Though the Boba Fett spinoff doesn't have a release date yet, the film is one of the next character-centric spinoff movies that Lucasfilm is preparing for its galaxy far, far away. The studio is also working on a spinoff for Obi-Wan Kenobi with Stephen Daldry in negotiations to direct and a spinoff for Jedi Master Yoda.
Right now Lucasfilm is keeping details about its Boba Fett spinoff under wraps, but we hope that we'll learn more soon.
