Star Wars’ Anthony Daniels Writes Heartbreaking Post For His Last Day As C-3PO On Episode IX

With Star Wars: Episode IX's production slowly coming to a close, Anthony Daniels takes to social media to announce C-3P0 wrapping his final Star Wars movie.

Posting on Twitter, Daniels shared a touching goodbye, announcing the end of C-3PO's time in the Star Wars franchise after wrapping up work in Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: Episode IX. Daniels has long since been part of the Star Wars team, playing the role of Star Wars excessively chatty communication droid ever since the release of A New Hope back in 1977. It's heartbreaking knowing that this is going to be C-3PO's last film and that 72-year-old actor can feel the weight of Episode IX too.

"Today was 3PO's last on Episode IX. He's sad - so am I. But we're so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I'll miss everyone but I'm glad to know that we've been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world," Daniels wrote in his tweet.

While C-3PO misses out on a few Star Wars films, the actor has been in every movie for the franchise, including Solo: A Star Wars Story where he plays the part of Tac.

Now, Daniels is set to return as C-3PO for one final stint in the Star Wars franchise. We can't wait to see what the actor has in store for us with his final performance as the first half of everyone's favorite bickering droid duo.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
