Star Wars’ Alan Tudyk Hints At K-2SO’s Appearance In Rogue One Prequel Series

Given the gift of biting wit and a dry sense of humor, Alan Tudyk's Star Wars droid K-2SO became an instant favorite when he appeared alongside Diego Luna's Cassian Andor in the Star Wars spinoff, Rogue One: A Star wars Story. Now, as Lucasfilm prepares a new TV series focused on Captain Cassian Andor's adventures before the events of the film, Tudyk teases the possibility of K-2SO returning in the upcoming Rogue One prequel series.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com about Lucasfilm's newest project for Disney's upcoming streaming site Disney+, Tudyk teases K-2SO's appearance in the new Star Wars series.

"It's a prequel, so it is a prequel. I love those guys, I do. I love those guys," Tudyk said in his discussion with the entertainment news outlet. "Diego Luna is one of my favorite people on the planet. I know what they're doing, and it's very exciting. We talked about it."

While this might not be a direct confirmation, fans are still expecting to see K-2SO in the series. The droid was a well-loved character in Rogue One, and given the droid's history with Cassian, it would make sense to have him appear in the new Star Wars show.

For those who haven't been following the news about the Rogue One prequel series, the show has been described as a "rousing spy thriller" that "will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire."

Really, it's hard to imagine Cassian without K-2SO in his missions.

The Rogue One prequel series has yet to receive a release date but the show is expected to make its way to Disney+ sometime next year.
