Star Wars: Ahsoka Will Reportedly Feature a Kylo Ren Reference

There has been a lot of anticipation for the upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka which will feature Rosario Dawson reprising the role of the titular Jedi. So far, the plot details are being kept under wraps although it's been confirmed that part of the storyline is also a continuation of the Rebels animated series.

Now, a recent report from Making Star Wars revealed some alleged details about what we can expect from the upcoming series including what looks like a reference to the sequel trilogy character Kylo Ren and, specifically, his journey in The Rise of Skywalker.

According to the report, the series will feature Stormtroopers that have armors that were repaired using the "Sarrasssian iron." It is similar to Kylo Ren in The Rise of Skywalker where he was seen approaching a blacksmith ape named Albrekh to repair his mask using the aforementioned red iron.

In the case of Ahsoka, most of the Stormtroopers' armor has been obliterated. Instead of the red veins running through the rebuilt armor, these troopers have what has been described as “golden cracks” or “yellow veins” running through their exterior.

The visual is based on the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which translates to "golden joinery." It is described as "broken valuables use gold or silver to mend and join the broken pieces of antique or art. The process sees the breaks as part of the history of the object."

However, the repair of the armor won't be similar to what was done in Kylo Ren during the events of The Rise of Skywalker. In the case of the Stormtroopers in the series, it will be done by The Nightsisters.

So far, we haven't seen the live-action shows make a lot of references or easter eggs to the sequel trilogy so it is pretty interesting that they're going for that direction in the upcoming series even in a minimal way. It would be curious to see where they will actually directly tie into the future events in the galaxy far, far away or if it's just a simple easter egg for fans to enjoy.
