Known to portray badass villains in Hollywood's biggest franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, DC, one would think that Ben Mendelsohn would play a fantastic James Bond villain. However, it looks like the actor himself is willing to slip on the iconic tux instead.

In a recent interview with NME, Mendelsohn, who played the part of Director Orson Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, opened up about the one franchise that "continues to elude him."

"I was just the other day singing Thunderball," the Captain Marvel star says. "James Bond was without a doubt the coolest man alive and he didn't even f*cking live."

"I didn't even realize that he was a stupid f*cking male fantasy," the actor added. "He was the best one, lock, stock, and barrel."

While Roger Moore is the Bond that Mendelsohn grew up with, he was "incredibly moved" by His Majesty's Secret Service starring George Lazenby. "And you can't get past Sean Connery," he adds.

Most studios and fans would like to see him portray yet another cool villain, but if the call came to play James Bond instead, Mendelsohn would "absolutely" go for it. "There'd be no doubt that I would definitely play James Bond."

Given that he mostly portrays villains in movies, it would be interesting to see Mendelsohn take on a role that does what's good and right instead of someone who wreaks havoc and teams up with those with the same motives.
