Star Wars sequel trilogy actor Oscar Isaac is partnering with Legendary Comics to develop his own graphic novel!

During Legendary Comics' Comic-Con@Home panel on Thursday, Isaac talked about the novel he's developing together with his childhood friends, Bob Johnson, and John Alvey. Titled Head Wounds: Sparrow, the story centers around Leo Guidry, a bad cop who suffers a psychic head wound, who has to find a way to "overcome the forces of darkness that have infiltrated his reality."

The novel's story is very personal to all of them because Johnson created the character while fighting stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His experience sort of became part of the inspiration for what Leo deals with in the story.

"I grew up as a big fan of comic books and I remember me and my friends would always imagine being able to create these things. We'd even draw our own comics and make our own stories," Isaac said during the panel. "That really formed me throughout my life. I always thought it'd be great one day to find a really interesting story and make a graphic novel."

Isaac says Johnson shared Head Wounds with him and thought it was "fascinating" and was a "great take one empathy." "I was really excited about it and thought it would be great as a graphic novel," he added.

The graphic novel will be written by Brian Buccellato with art by Christian Ward.

Head Wounds: Sparrow was developed by Isaac for his production company Mad Gene, to be available online and in stores early 2021.
