Star Wars Actor Diego Luna Denies Joining Rogue One Series Because Of Jabba The Hutt Obsession

It's no secret that Diego Luna is obsessed with Jabba the Hutt. However, the star of the Rogue One prequel series claims he didn't sign on to the new Star Wars show in hopes to touch the slimy villain.

Luna recently spoke to Collider about his new Netflix series Narcos: Mexico where he was asked if he only agreed to play Cassian Andor once again because he was promised a chance to meet Jabba. The Flatliners actor laughed about the idea, admitting that the Hutt obsession was just a random thing he said during interviews.

"One thing you say on one day in the middle of 150 interviews suddenly haunts you for the rest of your life. It's incredible the amount of s--t I get for that, I love it," Luna said.

He might not be expecting to meet Jabba soon but it's still in his bucket list. The Y Tu Mama Tambien star confessed that he is still curious about the Hutt.

"I guess my life will change the day I get to find out what the texture of Jabba's skin [is like]," he said with a laugh. Not surprisingly, he added, "I still want to touch Jabba the Hutt."

It might be too soon to hope for the Cassian Andor series to actually feature a Hutt that could ultimately give Luna what he is looking for. He revealed that he has not yet been given the details about the new Disney+ show.

The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series is expected to air on the Disney streaming service by 2020.
