Star Trek Comic-Con@Home Panel Teases Spock and Captain Pike's Arcs for Strange New Worlds

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a Discovery spin-off that could end up being more popular than the series is spawned from, mostly because of its fresh take on classic characters. The series already teased some interesting new arcs for Spock and Captain Pike, with the latter still trekking around the stars despite knowing that his early death is inevitable. During the big Star Trek Comic-Con@Home panel, the cast of Discovery and Strange New Worlds got together and discussed the spin-off show's arcs, among other topics.

Ethan Peck, who plays Spock in Discovery and Strange New Worlds, talks about how his relationship with Discovery lead Michael Burnham helped the half-Vulcan-half-Human appreciate his humanity more. The character's more alien self has been the subject of many Star Trek works and though exploring his human side isn't that original, it should make for some intriguing television.

As for Captain Pike, actor Anson Mount says that the character will feel uneasy about how he should move forward despite seeing how he'll die. That kind of information would be tough for anyone to swallow and the fact that he'll be continuing this journey as they explore Strange New Worlds could make him a truly unique lead if anything else.

No release date for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been revealed, most likely due to the current circumstances happening around the world. At the least, we have some intriguing character arcs for Captain Pike and Spock to look forward to.
