Star-Lord Joins Wolverine and Hawkeye as Senior Citizens in Marvel's Old Man Quill

With Marvel planning to end Old Man Logan with the upcoming Dead Man Logan maxi-series and Old Man Hawkeye halfway through its 12-issue lifespan, it looks like Marvel is going to age up one of its characters to keep the Old Man theme going. The company announced that they will be working on an Old Man Quill series, which stars an older version of Star-Lord and the Guardians of the Galaxy, who explore the post-apocalyptic Earth in the Old Man Logan timeline.

Announced during the Lucca Comics and Game convention, Old Man Quill will be written by Ethan Sacks, who wrote Old Man Hawkeye and drawn by Robert Gill. The first issue will launch in February 2019, though it's not yet clear if this will be an ongoing series or a maxi-one ala Old Man Hawkeye.

Having an older version of the Guardians explore a super villain-controlled Earth is actually a fairly interesting premise, though we'll have to wait for more details before making any more assumptions. No cover has been released as of this writing, though one will probably come in time for the company's February 2019 solicitations.

Speaking of the Guardians, Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw are launching a Guardians of the Galaxy ongoing series in January. It's a bit odd seeing Marvel go all in with the Guardians when there's no movie to promote right now. Whatever the case, it is nice seeing this group get some more time in the sun, even if James Gunn isn't returning to the franchise.

Old Man Quill hits comic book stores this February.
