Even though everyone saw it coming, fans were still very happy to see Activision announce the Spyro remaster coming out in September. Christened as Spyro Reignited Trilogy, this collection will have high definition remasters of the first three games, similar to the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Pretty much anyone who has played the game before is going to get it, so it will likely be a success.
Interestingly enough, during the financial conference of Activision, the company revealed that the pre-orders of the Spyro HD trilogy have exceeded expectations. Seems like Activision did not realize how many people missed the purple dragon's prominence and this could only mean good things about the character's future.
All three games hold a special place in the hearts of those that owned a PSOne, with many feeling like the second game is the best one of the bunch. Still, this will be a great way to revisit three classic platformers, especially with the enhanced graphics and (hopefully) improved controls.
Currently, the game has only been announced for the PS4 and Xbox One, though some leaks have suggested that it could also be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Getting this game out to as many hands as possible would be ideal.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy comes out in September 2018.
