After releasing the opening song for Spy x Family Season 2, popular Japanese singer Ado released an impressive cover of unravel, the iconic opening theme of Tokyo Ghoul.

Ado’s cover of TK from Ling Tosite Sigure’s ever-popular song was released on various streaming platforms, and it also got an official music video.

Given that unravel continues to be one of the most popular anime songs until today, the cover got lots of attention from fans.

It also helps that Ado is currently one of Japan’s biggest artists, and not just in the world of anime.

For many anime fans, their introduction to Ado was in last year’s One Piece Film: Red. This One Piece anime film is unique among the other movies in the franchise as it’s almost part-musical.

The film’s principal character, Uta, has two voices, and her singing voice is provided by Ado. Thus, Ado released multiple songs for the film, which were well-received by fans.

Ado once again made waves in anime as she performed the new opening song for Spy x Family Season 2.

Titled Kura Kura, the song also got a lot of attention as it is arranged by the Seatbelts and Yoko Kanno of Cowboy Bebop fame.

Even before her anime songs, Ado was already immensely popular in Japan. She became a household name in the country in 2020 thanks to her song, Usseewa.

Since then, Ado has continued to be one of the country’s biggest artists as her songs are almost always in the country’s top 10 chart.

She hasn’t slowed down one bit after releasing her Spy x Family Season 2 OP as Ado once again has a new song, this time it’s a cover of unravel.

This song is noteworthy for how difficult it is to sing, but given Ado’s vocal chops, it should come as no surprise that she knocks it out of the park with this cover.

On top of being released on streaming platforms such as Spotify, fans are also treated to an official music video, which you can watch here:

Fans of Ado may already be familiar with her take on the Tokyo Ghoul song. After all, clips of Ado performing the song on her Japanese tour have already been shared online before.

Soon, international fans may get a chance to hear Ado perform it live as she will soon embark on a World Tour.

For now, there’s no word yet on which countries Ado will visit for her tour.
