As the Summer 23 anime season is just a few days away, Spy Classroom Season 2 got a new trailer that revealed its July 2023 release date. The trailer also showed off some new footage featuring returning characters.
Spy Classroom Season 2’s latest trailer was released on the Kadokawa Anime official YouTube channel.
Along with its release, a new key visual for the second season highlighting Lily and Thea was also shared during a recent livestream.
While these Season 2 promo materials got the most attention, the livestream also revealed an unexpected collaboration with Sanrio.
Spy Classroom Reveals Adorable Sanrio Collab
The livestream happened on June 25, and it revealed that Spy Classroom linked up with Sanrio for a special collaboration.
While Sanrio is no stranger to collaborations with popular anime titles, this one comes as a bit of a surprise given that Spy Classroom hasn’t really hinted at a collaboration like this.
A visual featuring Lily in a Hello Kitty-inspired outfit (complete with a Hello Kitty plushie and bag) serves as the highlight image of the collab.
Though another visual was also shared featuring the other cast members.
This other visual features a cutesier art style and shows the members of Lamplight with Sanrio characters.
These include Grete with My Melody, Sibylla with Little Twin Stars, Sara with Pompompurin, Thea with Cinnamoroll, and others.
Aside from the visuals, the collab will also feature special merch, though these have yet to be revealed.
Still, fans can expect the collab to feature similar merch to the ones in the recent Sanrio x Lycoris Recoil collab.

Spy Classroom Season 2 Trailer Reveals Release Date
Season 1 of the Spy Classroom anime aired in the Winter 2023 season and ran for 12 episodes.
While it may not have gotten a ton of hype outside Japan, the show was successful enough to quickly get renewed for a second season.
What’s interesting is that the new season comes just after three months, making it seem more like a second cour than an actual season.
Whatever it is, fans of Spy Classroom are no doubt excited about its return.

Spy Classroom Season 2 will premiere on July 13, 2023, though there’s no official word yet on a release date for the anime outside Japan.
Given that the first season was streamed on HIDIVE, it’s expected that Season 2 will also be available on HIDIVE as soon as a new episode gets aired in Japan.
