Sony plans on exploring how Miles Morales personally deals with his responsibilities as a teenage hero in an upcoming animated short coming out this March — and it's free.

Defeating bad guys as the web-slinging hero isn't what makes Miles Morales', aka Spider-Man, life difficult in the real world. If anything, it's balancing his superhero work with being a high school student.

While fans are still hoping to catch Miles Morales on the big screens again, Sony will be releasing a new animated short for the Spider-Verse franchise this March.

Titled The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, the flick follows Miles Morales trying to navigate the pressure of keeping his responsibilities as a friend, student, and Spider-Man as a part of his routine.

Though this is what we usually see in his past films, the short flick aims to show that even someone as powerful as Spider-Man can also struggle in his everyday life.

In this case, the animated short will shed a spotlight on how Miles encounters his first panic attack and how he deals with it while protecting the city from evil forces.

The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story will premiere on Sony Pictures Animation's official YouTube channel on Wednesday, March 27, at 6 AM PT.

It is worth mentioning that this digital release for the Spider-Verse animated short is thanks to the partnership with Kevin Love Fund, an organization dedicated to spreading the word on the importance of mental wellness and physical health.

"My hope for the short film would be for everyone, especially young people, to understand that your feelings are valid and that you are not alone in this," KLF founder, professional basketball player, and mental health advocate Kevin Love told Variety.

The short animated flick initially debuted at Annecy in 2023 for the Leading and Empowering New Storytellers (LENS) program, before turning into an all-original short film set in Sony's Spider-Verse.
