Marvel's Spider-Man, also known as Spider-Man PS4, recently got a lot of fan's hopes up when it was revealed that an update with New Game Plus and the Ultimate Mode difficulty was going to come out on October 17. However, that was quickly removed and Insomniac Games are now claiming that the update is "coming soon," which disappointed a lot of fans.
Fans have wanted New Game Plus for the longest time, so not being able to play it after the mode was seemingly announced felt like an enormous gut punch. This doesn't mean that players don't appreciate the game as is but Insomniac shouldn't have put a release date, only to take it back hours later.
It's a shame that we won't be getting these modes yet since fans have wanted them for a while but when they do come out, expect fans to start playing Spider-Man PS4 again. These modes will also have new trophies for players to earn, which might feel like a small reason to play the game again but some gamers will appreciate that.
Seems like we will be getting this free update by the time the first DLC episode comes out next week, on October 23. Called The Heist, this DLC episode will add story missions that focus on Black Cat and even more side content, which has made many happy. All of these, plus New Game Plus, would be really fun to go through.
