Tom Holland's Spider-Man has a lot to look forward to in the future franchise. With Spider-Man: No Way Home setting up a more complex multiversal connection with Holland's Peter Parker, we might see more of the former villains, like Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin, or maybe some new addition that wasn't brought up in the live-action films like Martin Li or Mr. Negative.
Martin Li is a new addition to Spider-Man's lore in Marvel comics, the character just made his debut in 2007. Accidental exposure to drug testing gifted Martin Li with superhuman abilities fueled by both Darkforce and Lightforce, earning his titular character, Mr. Negative.
Mr. Negative's latest appearance was in 2018's Spider-Man PS4 game played by Stephen Oyoung. Now that Mr. Negative finally surfaced into a kind of live-action debut, the possibility of him showing up in the MCU is now open.
Stephen Oyoung, the voice behind Mr. Negative in the PS4 game responded to some rumors on the actor's Twitter page. Oyoung said, “Yes. I am seeing more and more rumors about Spider-Man 4 online. All I have to say is, Sony it’s ok if you lost my phone number. DM me.”
The actor continued, “Yes. I am seeing more and more rumors about Spider-Man 4 online. All I have to say is, Sony it’s ok if you lost my phone number. DM me.”
While Oyoung's Twitter page is not a reliable source for MCU casting, it’s plausible that he might make it to the MCU. However, given Oyoung's willingness to return for the role, Marvel has not yet commented anything regarding Mr. Negative's future in the MCU.
But no hopes are lost as Sony is crafting a bigger Spider-Verse following the events of No Way Home. Sony will bring some new villains addition to the Spider-Man universe including Jared Leto's latest film Morbius, and two upcoming debuts of Dakota Johnson's Madame Web and Aaron Taylor Johnson's Kraven: The Hunter.
If Sony paid attention to Stephen Oyoung's joke, the actor might actually get a call.
