Spider-Man: More Insiders Suggest That Sony/Disney Deal Could Be Announced in A Week

News had dropped yesterday that audiences at Keystone Comic-Con were asked to avoid talking about the Sony/Disney fallout during Tom Holland's panel, and it was said that it was because they wanted to avoid it messing with "contract discussions." Now another inside source has kind of supports the news and claims that a new deal between Sony and Disney could be announced in a few days.

This comes from Mikey Sutton on Facebook, who was said to have been the same source of the Spider-Man deal back in 2015.

Like the post suggests, it's still likely that a deal could not be reached, but for now, things are looking good. Hopefully, Sony and Disney do end up with something, seeing as they both gain something to lose if Spider-Man ever leaves the MCU—Disney loses one of its biggest heroes, and Sony will have to reinvent Spider-Man's whole narrative without the connections of the MCU.

While the internet certainly blew up after news that Spider-Man was officially out, it seems that everyone is slowly coming to terms with the split. At this point, you can catch some bitter people commenting on how hopeless these rumors are for giving some fans hope. Then again, I think it always helps to maintain a positive attitude, much like Holland in his latest public appearances.

For now, catch Spider-Man: Far from Home in theaters today. An extended version is also planning for a release on Aug. 29.
