Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has a 'Dozen' Stan Lee Cameos

We lost Stan Lee last year, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse paid a heartfelt tribute to him plus another defining cameo. What's interesting is, Lee is actually in the movie more than once; in fact, he's hidden all over it.

This was confirmed by producer Chris Miller on Twitter:

Until Spider-Verse releases to home video, we won't be able to go Stan Lee hunting (officially), but I'm sure there are some people on the internet who have enough free time to pore over every frame in the movie to confirm just how many times Lee appears.

Though Lee may be gone, it's been confirmed by Marvel Studios that he has already shot multiple cameos for the MCU, so we should expect to see him in films like Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, maybe even Spider-Man: Far from Home.

Lee has also said before that he would have wanted to shoot more cameos if he was given the time, so maybe he gave Marvel the go signal to digitally scan him and put him in every Marvel film moving forward. I know there'll be some naysayers, but it's actually a lovely thought to think that Lee is still alive and well as far as the films are concerned.

Though a lot of people thought that Venom was a step back for Sony, there was a ton of praise given to Spider-Verse. Who'd have thought that the right direction for Sony to take their Spider-Man franchise was through the animated medium?

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse hits home video March 19.
