Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 Producer Reveals New Update on Animated Sequel

It might still be a long wait for the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse but it looks like the cast and crew of the animated film are already getting ready. Producer Phil Lord has just offered an interesting update on the highly anticipated second movie.

Lord, who co-produced the first film with Chris Miller, has been answering fan questions on Twitter as part of an online viewing party of the movie. One fan wondered if the producer could share any information about the sequel and Lord revealed an unexpected update. Take a look at his tweet below.

"We were reminded several times today NOT to say anything about it. I guess they know we can't be trusted. All I can say is... worked on it all day yesterday and had a ball. Watching this got me pumped for all the surprises in store for 2022," Lord wrote.

It's awesome to know that Lord and his team are already working on Into the Spider-Verse 2 despite the Coronavirus outbreak shutdowns. This could mean that the sequel will get done sooner although its premiere has been delayed.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 was initially scheduled for release on April 8, 2022. However, Sony has decided to delay its premiere as several other projects have been pushed back due to COVID-19. The sequel is now expected to hit theaters on October 7, 2022.
