Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Includes Romance Between Happy Hogan And Aunt May

It looks like Spider-Man: Far From Home might be hosting some sort of surprise romance for fans.

While Marvel has yet to release the official trailer for its sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, a lucky few have already seen the promotional video for one of the most highly anticipated comic book movies of 2019. The trailer may still be missing online, but guests that attended this year's Comic-Con Experience Brazil got a first look at the video early today, and many fans took to Twitter to share a few details about the trailer.

Among the many details revealed by the video is a surprising romance between Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) assistant Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). A lot of fans who've been posting about the trailer for Far From Home have been focusing on Happy flirting with May.

Even Collider puts its focus on this little romance between the two, describing the trailer that they saw at the convention.

"From what I remember," the publication wrote. "the trailer begins with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) acting pretty happy and doing something with Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and then Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) appears and makes a comment about how May's changed her outfit or hair. Tom Holland gives Happy a glance like, ‘what are you trying to do with my Aunt?'"

When Aunt May first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, fans expected the character to begin an affair with Tony Stark. During that time the billionaire inventor broke up with Pepper Pots (Gwyneth Paltrow), and giving room for some to speculate that Stark could become the literal father figure of Peter. After all, RDJ and Tomei did star in the quirky 1994 rom-com Only You, so the chemistry between the two's already there.

However, Tony decided to return to Pepper, and now it seems like Happy is setting his sights on Aunt May. It's going to be interesting seeing Happy going after May and if the two really do end up together, well, good for them.

Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres July 5, 2019.
