There is little doubt that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had a lot of awesome surprises but none were bigger than the unexpected cameo from Donald Glover. Now, producer Chris Miller has shared a few behind-the-scenes photos revealing how the live-action Prowler cameo came to be.

Chris Miller took to his Twitter account to share the behind-the-scenes look at Donald Glover filming his cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The tweet also confirms that Glover's Prowler costume was created by The After Party costume designer Trayce Gigi Field.
"This was a fun day we had playing around with an old pal," Miller wrote.
In Across the Spider-Verse, Glover appeared briefly as one of the "anomalies" or villains who ended up in the wrong universe and were captured by the Spider Society. The live-action Prowler has a quick exchange with Miles Morales before the latter is taken to meet Miguel O'Hara.
It's great to know that although Donald Glover only filmed his scene for one day, the crew made sure he had a great costume. Needless to say, fans are hoping that there will be more of his Aaron Davis Variant in the next film.
Glover originally played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming but his connection to Spider-Man is much deeper. The original design for Miles Morales is based on the actor and he would later provide the voice of the character in the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man.
For now, it is unclear if we will see more of Glover's version of Aaron Davis in the next film. Nevertheless, fans are not giving up on the hope that there will be more of the Prowler in the future.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is still screening in theaters worldwide. The sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will premiere on March 29, 2024.
